If you detach your soul from your body, will you finally see me without fear?

Once upon a time, Medusa fell in love with a man. He feared her, as she was a gorgon.

One night, she asked her sisters, "If we detach our souls from our bodies, will he and I see each other as who we truly are?"

"Darling, if a soul doesn't feel, it won't feel love."

"And if it does, then he will fear you eternally."

They said, we process emotions in our brains. It collects information, and our bodies react accordingly.

Some push others because that is how their bodies respond to trauma. Some cannot make good judgments because a moment might trigger a bad memory. Others might suddenly feel tired as a physical reaction to the emotions they experience.

Our bodies are capable of amazing things. They give defensive or offensive feedback to protect oneself or others.

This is part of what makes us human. The way we react often stems from how our brains and bodies process information.

Happiness, sadness, anger, depression, boredom, longing, and everything else—these emotions define the human experience.

Then, dear, what does a soul do? Is it what makes the body "alive"?

Is a soul pure and innocent if it doesn’t attach itself to the body?

If we meet again in the afterlife far in the future, when both of our souls cross paths while our corpses are left on Earth, will your soul react the same way as it did when you were alive?

If you detach your soul from your body, will you finally see me without fear?

If your soul no longer fears me, does that mean it no longer remembers how we once loved each other?

And if your soul does remember, are you destined to fear me for eternity?
